The competitive value of a company depends on the product or good service quality, but also how the companies care about the surrounding environment. A company should be able to provide a comfortable working environment for workers and the surrounding environment and have a social responsibility to the wider community. One of the references related to corporate responsibility to society is Standard SA 8000. SA 8000 is an international standard which regulates matters related to social justice in the workplace, workers’ rights and working conditions. The SA 8000 certification sets minimum standards that must be met regarding working conditions to ensure a safe and healthy working environment, freedom of association and collective labor agreement. This training will provide an understanding of SA8000: Social Accountability as a strategy to improve the quality and competitive value of the company.
