Description
Geological map is basically a means to describe the body of rock, rock distribution, the position of the element geological structure and relationships between lithologies and summarizes other data. The geological map is also a technical overview of the Earth’s surface and partly below the surface have a direction, elements which are descriptive of geology, expressed as a line that has a definite position. Information presented in the geological map is needed for decision makers, both for a public and private sector, as for example in the determination of a road route plan, the “cut and fill” on the construction of roads in the hilly terrain. The geological map was also used in the “benefit-cost analysis” to minimize uncertainty and the potential additional costs. In geological mapping, a geologist should know the structure and composition of rocks and geological structures, well are exposed at the surface of the earth or under the surface by measuring the position of the rocks and elements of the geological structure by using a compass geology and interpreting the geology, both induction and deduction which is presented on the map by using symbols or colors. This training will provide an understanding of the geological mapping and optimize the company’s ability to achieve the strategic goals of the company.
