“A Strategy for Reclaiming Former Mining Land for Ecosystem Restoration and Environmental Sustainability”
Course Overview
Reclamation and post-mining land rehabilitation are strategic and legal obligations for mining companies to support environmental sustainability and comply with government regulations. The Post-Mining Land Reclamation training program is designed to equip mining professionals, environmental practitioners, and policymakers with a comprehensive understanding of planning, executing, and evaluating mine closure reclamation activities technically and sustainably.
Through this training, participants will learn landform design techniques, topsoil management, Acid Mine Drainage (AMD) prevention, native species revegetation, biodiversity monitoring, and procedures for releasing reclamation bonds in accordance with Good Mining Practice standards.
Training Objectives
-
- Understand the latest regulations, government policies, and Good Mining Practice standards in post-mining reclamation execution.
- Master landform design techniques, topsoil management, and Acid Mine Drainage (AMD) prevention methods.
- Design effective and sustainable revegetation and local ecosystem restoration strategies.
- Implement environmental monitoring methods, reclamation success evaluations, and post-mining socio-economic management.
- Prepare Reclamation Plans and Mine Closure Plans (RPT) meeting government land relinquishment standards.
